Christian counseling that meaningfully integrates faith with evidence-based clinical care is available when requested.
You can be successful, self-aware, and deeply committed to the people in your life—and still know that something needs to change. Anxiety may be consuming too much of your energy. You may find yourself reacting in ways you do not fully understand, repeating patterns you thought you had outgrown, or feeling dissatisfied in relationships that matter to you. You may not be in crisis; you may simply want greater clarity, stronger relationships, and a life that feels more aligned with who you are and how you want to live.
Or your life may have changed suddenly. Infidelity, escalating relationship conflict, a painful experience, or an unexpected transition may have left you overwhelmed and uncertain about what to do next. You want to be met with care and compassion, but you also want an experienced counselor who can understand the complexity of your situation and help you find a clear path forward.
With more than 30 years of counseling experience, I help adults and couples understand what is happening beneath the surface, address the patterns keeping them from moving forward, and make meaningful changes in their lives and relationships. You will work directly with me throughout the counseling process.
Christian counseling is available for individuals and couples who want their faith understood and meaningfully integrated with evidence-based clinical care. My approach is informed by 17 years of experience serving as a therapist in the Counseling Ministry of Southeast Christian Church. You determine how faith is included, and counseling without explicit faith integration is also available.
I provide in-person counseling in Louisville, secure online counseling throughout Kentucky, Indiana, and Florida, and limited in-person counseling in Lakewood Ranch near University Town Center in the Bradenton area.

Counseling Services
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling can help when anxiety, stress, painful experiences, or recurring concerns are affecting your peace of mind, relationships, decisions, or ability to enjoy the life you have built.
You may already understand a great deal about yourself and still find that certain thoughts, emotional reactions, or relationship patterns are difficult to change. Our work can help you identify what is driving those responses, develop more effective ways of managing them, and make changes that extend beyond the counseling office.
Individual counseling can also support personal growth, healthier relationships, greater self-awareness, and more intentional choices during important seasons of life.

Couples and Marriage Counseling
Couples often seek counseling because communication has become strained, conflict goes unresolved, or they no longer feel as close as they once did. You may be having the same arguments repeatedly, avoiding important conversations, or struggling to communicate without becoming defensive or withdrawing. You may also want to strengthen a good relationship, deepen intimacy, or address concerns before they become more serious.
I utilize the Gottman Method to help couples recognize the patterns affecting their relationship and develop specific skills for communicating more effectively, managing conflict, rebuilding trust, and strengthening connection.
When infidelity has occurred, couples often need focused help with the immediate crisis as well as the questions, emotions, and decisions that follow. Infidelity recovery counseling provides a structured process for addressing the betrayal, establishing greater emotional safety, and determining what rebuilding the relationship would require.

Christian Counseling
Christian faith may be central to how you understand your identity, relationships, decisions, struggles, and hopes for the future. Christian counseling offers a way to integrate your beliefs with evidence-based clinical care in a manner that feels meaningful and authentic.
You determine how faith is included. Some clients want Scripture, prayer, or direct conversations about faith to be part of counseling. Others want a therapist who understands their Christian worldview without incorporating spiritual practices into every session.
I offer Christian counseling that provides room for honest questions, difficult emotions, and complicated experiences while respecting the deeply personal role faith plays in your life. If you are struggling in your relationship with God, want help understanding your faith, or need a place to explore doubts or spiritual concerns, these can be part of the counseling process. If you have experienced church hurt or teachings that were applied in confusing or harmful ways, those experiences can also be explored with care and without judgment.
My approach is informed by 17 years of experience serving as a therapist in the Counseling Ministry of Southeast Christian Church.

How I Work
The methods we use will depend on what you are experiencing, what you want to change, and the kind of support that will be most useful to you. Counseling may include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to anxiety, stress, or relationship difficulties
Gottman Method couples therapy to improve communication, manage conflict, rebuild trust, and strengthen connection
Attachment-based therapy to understand how earlier relationships and experiences may influence present emotions, expectations, and relationship patterns
Trauma-informed care to address the continuing effects of painful, difficult, or overwhelming experiences
Somatic therapy to support nervous-system regulation and address how stress and emotion are experienced in the body
Somatic EMDR to address anxiety, difficult or traumatic experiences, negative beliefs, and patterns that keep you feeling stuck
A neuroscience-informed approach to understand how the brain, body, emotions, behavior, and relationships influence one another
A faith-informed approach that integrates Christian faith with evidence-based clinical care, honoring your values and beliefs when requested
Your counseling will be shaped around your concerns, goals, values, and preferences.
