Welcome
As a licensed therapist for over 30 years, I have provided individual, couples, and marriage counseling in Louisville, KY, including 17 years of service in the counseling ministry of Southeast Christian Church. In 2023, I became licensed in Florida and Indiana, and I now offer online counseling (Telehealth) to residents of all three states. In late 2025, I will also begin offering in-person counseling in Florida and Indiana.
Faith-Informed & Traditional Counseling
I provide both faith-informed counseling and traditional clinical counseling, depending on what best supports each client.
Faith-informed counseling integrates evidence-based practice with spiritual resources for those who desire it. Clients may choose to include Biblical principles, scripture, prayer, or reflection as part of the process. This holistic approach addresses emotional, relational, mental, and spiritual needs together.
Traditional counseling is offered for those who prefer a non-spiritual approach. I draw from evidence-based methods that honor and respect each person’s values, culture, and goals.
Whether you are seeking Christian counseling or a more conventional approach, I provide a safe and supportive space for healing, growth, and lasting change.
Issues & Areas I Treat
I work with adults and couples on a wide range of concerns. Here are some of the most common areas I help clients address:
Marriage & Relationship Issues – I help couples improve communication, strengthen emotional and physical intimacy, and build resilience in their relationship. Many couples come to counseling when they feel stuck, disconnected, or in repeated cycles of conflict, and discover new ways to reconnect and thrive together.
Infidelity Recovery & Divorce Healing – Betrayal and loss can feel devastating, but healing is possible. I support individuals and couples through the pain of infidelity or separation, helping them process emotions, rebuild trust (when reconciliation is possible), and move forward toward healthier relationships and personal growth.
Anxiety & Depression – These are two of the most common issues people face, but they can look different for everyone. I help clients understand their unique experiences of worry, stress, or sadness and provide evidence-based tools to reduce symptoms, build coping strategies, and restore a sense of balance and hope.
Life Transitions & Loss – Change—even positive change—can feel overwhelming. Whether you are moving, changing careers, becoming a parent, entering empty-nest years, or grieving a loss, therapy offers support, clarity, and direction during uncertain times.
Women’s Issues – Many women struggle with the unique pressures of balancing roles, navigating health changes, or dealing with relational and emotional stress. I provide a space for women to explore these concerns, increase self-understanding, and feel supported in creating a healthier path forward.
Family of Origin & Attachment Concerns – Our early experiences often shape how we relate to others as adults. Together, we can work on identifying old patterns, healing relational wounds, and building more secure and fulfilling connections today.
Personal & Spiritual Growth – Some clients seek therapy not because of a crisis, but because they want to grow. Whether it’s exploring spiritual questions, deepening self-understanding, or finding more meaning and purpose, counseling can help you create a more balanced and fulfilling life.
My Approach
Because no two clients are alike, I use an integrative approach, drawing on different methods depending on what will best support your healing and goals. With decades of experience in counseling psychology, I tailor treatment to meet each client’s unique needs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Considered the “gold standard” in therapy, CBT helps clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier coping skills, and reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. Clients often find it empowering because it gives them practical tools they can use right away in daily life.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy – A highly researched and proven approach to helping couples strengthen friendship, deepen intimacy, manage conflict constructively, and rebuild trust. Developed from over 40 years of scientific study on what makes relationships succeed or fail, the Gottman Method provides practical, evidence-based tools that help couples create lasting, positive change. I am Level Three trained and a Gottman Referral Network Approved Provider.
Somatic Approaches – Because our bodies often “hold” stress and trauma, somatic therapy focuses on the mind–body connection. Through gentle awareness and grounding practices, clients learn to calm the nervous system, release tension, and feel more present and at ease.
Attachment-Based Therapy – Early relationships shape the way we connect as adults. This approach helps clients understand patterns in how they relate to others, heal from past wounds, and build stronger, healthier, more secure relationships.
Neuroscience-Informed, Holistic Practices – Drawing on the latest brain and body research, I integrate mindfulness, stress-regulation strategies, and whole-person practices to support emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being. This allows clients to move beyond symptoms toward deeper healing and growth.
Getting Started
Many people have mixed feelings about reaching out for counseling. Most of my clients felt the same way—until they discovered how helpful the right guidance and support could be. Many experience positive change and progress toward their goals in a relatively short time.
In our first sessions, we will clarify your needs and create a personalized therapy plan to help you move forward with hope and confidence.
