Women’s Counseling

Thoughtful Therapy for Women Navigating Stress, Transitions, and Emotional Overload

Many women who seek therapy are capable, educated, and responsible—yet feel persistently anxious, emotionally drained, or disconnected despite managing life well on the surface. You may be navigating a demanding career, complex relationships, caregiving roles, or a season of transition and find that your usual ways of coping are no longer enough.

I provide counseling for women who want a calm, professional, and evidence-based approach—therapy that respects intelligence, life experience, and emotional complexity.

Concerns Commonly Addressed in Women’s Counseling

Women seek therapy for many reasons, including:

  • Anxiety, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm
  • Burnout, perfectionism, and high internal pressure
  • Life transitions (career changes, divorce, caregiving, empty nest)
  • Relationship challenges or patterns that feel difficult to change
  • Grief, loss, or unresolved emotional pain
  • Desire for greater clarity, balance, and self-trust

Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and develop healthier, more sustainable ways of relating—to yourself and to others.

An Experienced, Evidence-Based Approach

With over 30 years of clinical experience, my work with women is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw from:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Attachment-based and relational approaches
  • Somatic and neuroscience-informed methods

Therapy is paced intentionally, with attention to both symptom relief and deeper understanding. The goal is meaningful, lasting change—not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions.

Faith-Informed Counseling (Available by Request)

Some women want therapy that is clinically strong and also consistent with their Christian faith; others prefer therapy that is fully faith-neutral. I offer faith-informed counseling when requested, always guided by your preferences and goals.

I bring extensive training and experience in faith-integrated care, including 17 years serving in the counseling ministry of Southeast Christian Church. During that time, I worked with individuals and couples and developed a strong foundation in integrating psychological care with Christian faith in a thoughtful, responsible, and clinically sound way.

Here is more information about my approach: Christian and Faith-Informed Counseling. and an article about how faith-informed therapy can be utilized to address anxiety: Faith-Informed Therapy for Anxiety.

Faith is never assumed, imposed, or required. If you want faith to be part of your therapy, it can be integrated respectfully. If you do not, therapy remains fully focused on your emotional, relational, and psychological goals.

What Women Often Appreciate About This Work

Women often describe this therapy as:

  • Grounded, calm, and emotionally safe
  • Clear, focused, and professionally guided
  • Respectful of autonomy, values, and lived experience
  • Practical while still addressing deeper emotional patterns

This is private, self-pay counseling for women seeking depth, clarity, and meaningful change.
