Anxiety Therapy

Evidence-based counseling to reduce anxiety and restore steadiness, clarity, and confidence

Anxiety can show up in many ways. You may feel constantly on edge, overthink decisions, struggle to relax, or feel unsettled even when life appears to be going well. For some people, anxiety is tied to specific situations or stressors; for others, it feels more chronic or difficult to explain.

Anxiety therapy provides a supportive, structured space to understand what is fueling anxiety and to develop practical tools for managing it more effectively. Many clients experience meaningful relief relatively quickly and notice positive changes within the first few sessions, particularly when therapy focuses on practical strategies and nervous-system regulation.

How anxiety often shows up

People seek anxiety therapy for concerns such as:

  • Persistent worry or racing thoughts
  • Feeling tense, keyed up, or unable to relax
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Sleep disruption or mental fatigue
  • Physical symptoms such as tightness, restlessness, or stomach discomfort
  • A sense of unease that interferes with daily life or relationships

Anxiety may be situational or long-standing, and it often overlaps with stress, relationship concerns, or major life transitions.

Anxiety therapy in my practice

My approach to anxiety therapy is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. Therapy is not about eliminating anxiety entirely, but about reducing its intensity and increasing your ability to respond with clarity, steadiness, and confidence.

Anxiety therapy may include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns
  • Attachment-based work to explore relational dynamics that may contribute to anxiety
  • Neuroscience-informed care to understand how the brain and nervous system respond to stress
  • Somatic approaches to address how anxiety is experienced and held in the body
  • Practical strategies for emotional regulation and stress management

Because anxiety often responds well to focused, skills-based intervention, many clients report feeling more grounded, clearer, and less overwhelmed within a relatively short period of time. Therapy is designed to be practical and goal-directed rather than open-ended.

Faith-informed anxiety therapy (available if desired)

For individuals who request it, I offer faith-informed anxiety therapy that thoughtfully integrates Christian faith with professional, evidence-based counseling. Faith can be incorporated in a way that supports grounding, perspective, and hope.

Faith is never assumed or required. Many clients prefer a more neutral, clinical approach, and therapy is always guided by your goals, values, and comfort level.

Who anxiety therapy may be helpful for

Anxiety therapy may be a good fit for individuals who:

  • Feel overwhelmed by worry or mental noise
  • Notice anxiety affecting relationships or daily functioning
  • Want practical tools, not just insight
  • Are seeking steadier emotional regulation
  • Want to respond to stress with greater confidence and calm
