What is Telehealth?
Through audio and video over the internet, we can meet using your desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device (iOS or Android) – it’s your choice! You can be at home, work, or in your car, as long as you have a suitable internet connection and you have some privacy.
Telehealth allows us to connect anywhere with secure and convenient appointments that save you time and hassle. These appointments are the same as those in my counseling office and the fee is the same. My regular sessions are 50-60 minutes and cost $120. I do offer half-sessions (for 30 minutes) at a rate of $70 to established clients, when I deem it appropriate. A limited number of reduced fee appointments (based on income) are available to clients who qualify. I accept cash, check, charge, HSA, and FSA as payment.
I understand that for many people, finances have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Please do not let my rates deter you from asking for help. I will work with you to find a cost-effective solution that fits your situation.
Appointments are private and confidential and conducted using Simple Practice management software, which is HIPPA compliant. Appointments are never recorded by the therapist and clients are prohibited from recording the appointment. Telehealth appointments are available six days a week with daytime and evening hours, including early morning and late evening appointments. I understand that many people are trying to juggle working from home while overseeing the care and education of their children, thus, I want to accommodate the needs of my clients.
What equipment do you need to participate in a Telehealth appointment?
To participate in Telehealth appointments from your home or office, you need one of the following devices:
1. Desktop computer with a webcam and speakers
2. Laptop computer with built-in webcam and speakers
3. Tablet device with built-in webcam and speakers
4. Smartphone (Note: To use a smartphone, you must first download Telehealth by SimplePractice – available for iOS or Android in the app store)
You will also need an internet connection that is at least 10mbps. For optimal results, a reliable, high- speed internet connection with a bandwidth of at least 10 mbps will minimize connection issues and provide the best quality.
How will I connect to the appointment?
After you have completed all online paperwork for new clients, including giving permission to receive text or email reminders of appointments, you will receive a reminder 24 hours prior to the appointment and also 10 minutes prior to the appointment, at which time you will receive a link to join the appointment.
